When nature meets design: there is a balance between the organic and the artificial that has to be carefully aspired to. Nature has been dominant in Murmansk’s inhabitants’ conversations about the park. The objective is to emphasize the natural aspects of the area by empowering the natural habitat, creating protected zones and favoring minimum intervention through the deliberate limitation of infrastructure. The gradual discovery and rediscovery happens when the different zones are integrated in the design with all its roles: the arrival, the paths, the momentary lake, the punctual socio-cultural features and the exit.
